SUCCESS STORY
Sand Bar Cultivation
Gaibandha, district, life has always been a struggle. This village, home to 1020 households, includes a neglected neighborhood adjacent to the embankment of the river Jamuna. Here, 72 families live in poverty, relying on fishing,
boating, and daily wage labor to survive.
.
Among them is Shefali Begum, whose family of five often faces days with little to no food, their debts growing heavier with each passing day.

Shefali’s life took a hopeful turn when she became a member of the ECCCP-Flood project, implemented by TMSS in collaboration with PKSF.
With the support of the project, Shefali received sweet pumpkin seeds and fertilizers. Her joy knew no bounds as she saw this as the beginning of a new journey. She meticulously cultivated the seeds, not just on her land but also in her courtyard. As the seedlings grew and began to bear fruit, Shefali’s hope blossomed alongside them.
Shefali Begum’s story is a testament to the transformative power of the ECCCP-Flood project to enhance community support and sustainable farming. Her journey from debt and despair to hope and prosperity serves as an inspiration to many in her village and beyond.
